Keeping an eye on your milling
hawos Novum has a number of special features that set it apart from ordinary mills. Like good office chairs, it stands on five “legs” not four, to ensure extra stability. And a small window on top of the mill lets you peek inside to see how much grain is left to be milled – without having to stop the machine and remove the hopper cover. The handle of the cover has a high-gloss finish. During the milling process, you can watch the grain in the hopper.

CONSTRUCTION:
Millwork
The precise milling fineness you desire comes from the special millstones built into all hawos mills. In the Novum, super-hard corundum ceramic mill stones – unusually large for a home mill, with a diameter of 100 millimetres (3.9 inches) – and the rest of the millwork unit are set on a highly elastic bedding, ensuring pleasantly low-noise milling.

And all our mills are built to the same exacting standards.
Motor
A rugged industrial motor, complete with security switch and superior-quality components, ensures high performance and complete safety. And because the Novum generates minimal heat, your grain doesn’t “burn” during milling. So it keeps all its natural flavour and nutritional value.
Mill output
hawos Novum gives you 125 grams (4.4 ounces) of finely milled flour per minute or 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of extremely fine flour.
With coarser grinds, you can mill up to 350 grams (12.3 ounces) per minute.
These measures are for wheat with a humidity content of 13 %. slightly different results may be obtained from different grains and humidity levels.
Extremely quiet
Our patented millwork setting allows the Novum to work hard at extremely low noise levels.
And you can fit a bowl or other container up to 16 centimetres (6.3 inches) in height under the grain discharge outlet (elegantly proportioned plastic bowl is included).
Modular technology
hawos Novum consists of surprisingly few parts, and thanks to the mill’s modular design they fit together easily for rapid dismantling and reassembly. Cleaning is also quick and easy, and requires no special tools.
Built-in safety
For your safety and that of your children, the mill cannot be accidentally started when the hopper is removed.
